You wonder what's really Krabi's most beautiful beach ?
I understand perfectly: before going, I too spent hours scrolling through postcard-worthy photos.
But between the magic of Instagram and reality on the ground, there's sometimes a gap.
So I tested it. I really did.
On foot, by longtail boat, in the rain and sometimes with more sand in my bag than on the beach.
Result: 8 beachesall different, all beautiful in their own way.
If you're in a hurry:
👉 For a relaxed atmosphere, head for Nopparat Thara Beach at the end of the day.
👉 For breathtaking photos, rely on Phra Nang.
👉 For a quiet tan, away from the crowds, Tubkaek is unbeatable.
Shall we go? Put on your flip-flops, we're off to the beach.
🏖️ Railay Beach: Krabi's undisputed star
Railay BeachThis is the Holy Grail of Thai beaches.
Here, I'm mainly talking about West Railay BeachThe large west-facing beach is perfect for swimming and watching the sunset.
Accessible only by boat, it retains the wilderness that makes it so appealing.

Why Railay won me over
The first thing that strikes you is crystal-clear water.
No need for Instagram filters here, nature does the job.
The sand is so fine it looks like powder, and the limestone cliffs that frame it create a postcard decor.
I spent hours there watching the climbers tackle the walls.
If you're a climbing enthusiast, this is the place to be. THE global spotlight inescapable.
Otherwise, you can just admire it while sipping a fresh coconut.
My practical advice for Railay
- Best moment Early morning (7am-9am) or late afternoon (4pm-6pm).
- Access longtail boat from Ao Nang (150 baht) or Krabi Town (300 baht).
- My favorite spot West Railay for the sunset, East Railay for a quieter atmosphere.
- Avoid weekends If possible, a tourist invasion is guaranteed.

🌊 Ao Nang beach: the ideal starting point
Ao NangKrabi's most accessible beach.
Not the most spectacular, but clearly the most convenient starting point for easy exploration of the region's other beaches, islands and activities.
What I like about Ao Nang
The huge advantage of Ao Nang is its proximity to everything.
Restaurants, bars, tour agencies, massage... You're spoilt for choice.
And then, that's where most of the excursions to the islands.
The sand isn't as fine as in Railay, I'm not going to lie to you.
But the atmosphere is nice.
If you want sleep in KrabiIt's also THE most practical sector.
My tips for Ao Nang
- For eating I'd like to recommend Jungle Kitchen, an address I particularly like for its authentic, tasty Thai cuisine, excellent value for money and friendly team.
- For drinking the rooftop of AVANI Ao Nang Cliff Resort (The Peak Bar) is my favorite spot for an aperitif. Here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Andaman Bay.
🏝️ Phra Nang Beach: the princess beach
Phra Nang Beach is part of the Railay complex, but deserves its own section.
This little cove is an absolute gem.

Krabi's most Insta-spot?
Visit grotte de la princesse (Phra Nang Cave) gives its name to the beach.
Locals place colorful offerings here, often phallic wooden statues or representations, decorated with ribbons and flowers, symbols of fertility and protection, creating a unique mystical atmosphere.

The water is an incredible blue, and the rock formations offer a thousand photo opportunities.
This is where I took my best photos of Krabi.
But watch out, the secret's out: it's a busy time!
My tips for enjoying Phra Nang
- Golden hour 5 - 6:30 p.m. for magic colors
- Snorkeling equipment available on site (150 baht/day)
- Exploration climb a little to discover secret coves
- My advice combined with a hike to Railay viewpoint
🌺 Tubkaek Beach: wild and authentic
Tubkaek Beach remains one of Krabi's best-kept secrets.
This 8 km long beach offers an authentic experience far from the tourist crowds.

Why Tubkaek won me over
No hawkers or roaring jet-skis here.
Just golden sand as far as the eye can seecoconut palms leaning out to sea and this incredible view of the offshore islands.
The water is calmer than in Ao Nang, perfect for swimming.
It's my "escape" beach when I feel like being alone in the world.
Sunsets here are magical, with karst formations silhouetted against the horizon.
My recommendations for Tubkaek
- Best moment late afternoon for the breathtaking sunset.
- Access Ao Nang: about 30 minutes by scooter or car from Ao Nang (15 km), a pleasant trip with some stretches along the coast.
- Catering A few luxury resorts and small local restaurants.
- My advice Perfect for a relaxing day out or a romantic picnic.
🏖️ Nopparat Thara Beach: pure tranquility
Nopparat Thara is perfect if you're looking for absolute peace and quiet.
This 3 km-long beach doesn't (yet) attract masses of tourists.
My ultimate relaxation beach
Nopparat Thara's big plus? Space!
You can walk for miles without meeting many people.
The golden-gray sand is less spectacular than elsewhere, but the Zen atmosphere more than makes up for it.
I often went there for my reading sessions or morning walks.
The sunsets are splendid, and on a clear day you can even make out the Phi Phi islands on the horizon, some 40 km away.
What you need to know about Nopparat Thara
- Period : avoid low tide, as the water recedes a long way off
- Catering A few small local restaurants, authentic atmosphere guaranteed
- Hosting perfect if you want peace and quiet while staying close to Ao Nang
- My tip Rent a scooter or bike to explore the entire coastline
⭐ Phi Phi Islands: the obligatory excursion
It's impossible to talk about Krabi's most beautiful beaches without mentioning the islands Phi Phi.
Although technically a separate archipelago, it's easiest to reach from Krabi.
Maya Bay and iconic spots
Maya Bay remains THE mythical beach made famous by Leonardo DiCaprio.
But Phi Phi is much more: Long Beach, Bamboo Island, Mosquito Island…
Each spot has its own personality.
The water is an unearthly blue, the beaches immaculate white sand, and the snorkeling is exceptional.
My tips for a successful excursion
- Tower type small groups (max 15 people).
- Departure Early morning (7am) to avoid the crowds.
- Budget Prices: 1200-1500 baht for a full day.
- To go Sunscreen, mask/tuba if you have them, and plenty of water.
- Annual closure Maya Bay closes temporarily every year between August 1 and September 30to allow the ecosystem to breathe.
🌅 Klong Muang Beach: the quiet spot
Less well-known, more local.

A beach for pleasure
The sand is immaculate, the water crystal-clear and, above all, there are far fewer people than in Ao Nang!
The sunsets over the islands are breathtaking.
My tips for Klong Muang
- Access 20 minutes by scooter from Ao Nang
- Restaurants more expensive, but with the same quality
- Atmosphere The perfect place for a romantic getaway
🐚 Koh Tup and Koh Kai: the almost hidden gems
These two small islands, accessible only by boat, are well worth a visit for their pristine beaches.

Postcard spots
Koh Tup (Tup Island) is famous for the sandbar that connects two islets at low tide.
Koh Kai (Chicken Island) owes its name to a rock formation that resembles... a hen's head!
The water is crystal clear, perfect for snorkeling.
And since access is limited, you'll often feel like you're at the end of the world.
How to make the most of it
- Combined tour : often included in 4 islands" excursions
- Perfect photo Koh Tup sandbank at low tide
By the way, if you want to discover all the islands to visit around KrabiI have a dedicated guide with my secret spots!

And if you're still hesitating about other destinations, here are my comparisons Krabi or Phuket and Krabi or Koh Samui will help you decide!
How do you get between the beaches?
- Scooter total freedom (250-350 baht/day) - check my guide Getting around Krabi
- Cab more expensive but practical with luggage
- Longtail boat : a must for secluded islands and beaches
- Organized tours perfect for discovering several spots in one day

- Avoid weekends Thai people love their beaches too!
- Off-season May to August are quieter (but keep an eye on the weather)
- Alternative spotlights Instagram: exploring beyond the "classics
After all these months of scouring Krabi's coastline, I have to confess something: there isn't ONE most beautiful beach in the world. several unique experiences.
My advice? Don't limit yourself to just one!
Krabi is incredibly fortunate in that it offers an exceptional diversity of landscapes in a small area.
Take the opportunity to do your own ranking.
If you have 3 days in Krabiyou can easily discover 4-5.
And for rainy days (it happens!), I have lots of ideas in my article what to do in Krabi when it rains.
